SEMMES, Alabama -- Freshman Jaxon Donaldson led the Bobcats on day one of the three-day Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, shooting an even-par 71 that included a pair of birdies and an eagle on No. 18 to close out the day. He is currently tied for 16th.

As a team, TXST shot 9-over and are seventh heading into tomorrow's second round. Host South Alabama leads the 13-team field at -8, with UCF in second (-2) and Jacksonville State third (-1).

Jack Burke sits second in the Bobcat lineup after going 1-over in the first round to tie for 20th, Joel Talusen is +3 and in a tie for 40th and Sakke Siltala rounded out the counting scores for Texas State tied for 45th at 5-over. Also competing as part of the lineup is Ben Loveard who finished his day +6 and in a tie for 51st.

Round two action begins from hole No. 1 starting at 9 a.m. CT Monday. The Bobcats are paired with Samford and Nicholls.
