COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas State softball closed out the Texas A&M Invitational with a 5-0 loss to Idaho State on Sunday morning.
Emma Strood started in the circle for the Bobcats tossing two strikeouts against the first two batters. She'd get a ground out to retire the batters in order. Texas State was also retired in order in the bottom half of the inning, though.
In the second inning, Strood started out with a third strikeout before giving up a single, but she'd close out the inning on a fly out and a fourth strikeout.
Karmyn Bass would double to get on base in the bottom of the 2
nd, but she was stranded on third after a sac-bunt,
Sydney Harvey strikeout and
Kate Bubela pop up.
The Bobcats were plagued by errors in the third, allowing three runs to score off three errors.Â
Maddy Azua came in to pitch in the 4
th, allowing one hit but another error by the Bobcats allowed Idaho State to add a fourth run to their tally.
The Bengals would go up 5-0 in the 5
th off a solo home run. That would be the final run scored in the game.Â
