AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team completed the first 36 holes of action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational Monday evening. The 54-hole event is being held at the University of Texas Golf Club.
Yvonne Chamness led the Bobcats on the first day of the tournament, posting a pair of rounds at 78 to bring her two-round total to 12-over to sit in a tie for 32nd.
Carla Bourdeaux surged up the leaderboard 21 spots over the second 18 with TXST's low round of the day at +3. The sophomore shot 10-over in the first round making her +13 good for a tie for 38th.
Mattingly Palmer and
Ella Salama also saw both of their round scores count toward the Bobcat total on day one, with Palmer going +14 to tie for 42nd and Salama at +17 to tie for 57th.
Miren Ontanon rounds out the Texas State lineup at +30.
The Bobcats are currently 10th on the team leaderboard at +56. Host and No. 7 Texas leads the event and +7 with No. 13 LSU second at +19 and No. 2 Arkansas third at +22.
