NEW ORLEANS – The Texas State women's golf team completed the second round of action at the Tulane Classic and currently sits fifth with 18 holes to play at the English Turn Golf & Country Club.
Yvonne Chamness continues to lead the Bobcats following her even-par 72 first round with a 4-over round Monday. The junior is now seventh on the individual leaderboard at +4 for the tournament.
TXST's +42 after 36 holes is six back from fourth place Howard. Tulane leads the 10-team field at +21, while Cal Poly (+27) and Fresno State (+31) round out the top three in order.
Freshman
Ella Salama carded an 80 on the second day top keep her inside the top 20 at +10 and tied for 18th.
Both
Miren Ontanon and
Carla Bourdeaux shot +10 on day two, placing Ontanon (+14) in a tie for 31st and Bourdeaux (+16) in a tie for 38th.
Mattingly Palmer completed the lineup in round two at +11 and is tied for 35th overall.
The final round of action resumes Tuesday when the Bobcats pair up with Howard and UTEP for an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start from holes 5-9.
