SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball tallied a win and a loss on its record with a 3-0 win over Lipscomb and a 7-3 loss to Bradley on Saturday.

Karmyn Bass hit effectively in both games, with three hits, a run and two RBI. That, paired with a six-inning, seven strikeout outing for Maddy Azua against Lipscomb highlighted the Bobcats day at the ballpark.

Kate Bubela scored after getting on base from a hit, while Sydney Harvey scored after reaching on an error. That put the Bobcats up 2-0 after the first inning.

Texas State added its third run in the third inning off of Bass' triple. She scored Williams who was hit by a pitch to get on base.

From there, Azua tallied her seven strikeouts before head coach Ricci Woodard opted to bring in senior pitcher Presley Glende to close out the game. Glende got one strike out and two fly outs to end the game.

Bradley scored their first run in the second inning off a sacrifice fly after Glende allowed a single and a double earlier in the inning.

In the top of the third, Woodard opted to bring in Emma Strood, who gave up a pair of singles that allowed Lipscomb to score two runs. Strood gave up one more run in the top of the fourth before Woodard brought in Abigail Jennings.
