SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's basketball returns home for its annual Play 4 Kay Cancer Awareness game and its Team Impact Awareness game.
Texas State will face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 7 pm as part of its Play 4 Kay Game. The team will be donating money for every made free throw in the month of February to cancer research, and fans can pledge to do so as well.
The Bobcats will then host Western Michigan as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 pm. That game will be part of the Team Impact Awareness Game. This game will highlight Texas State women's basketball's partnership with Team Impact and their teammate Lizzie.

With the Chanticleers:
- Texas State has a 6-5 record all-time against Coastal Carolina.
- Texas State has won the last two meetings between these two teams, by a 52-49 scoreline in 2024 and a 64-59 scoreline in 2022.
- Coastal Carolina last won on Feb. 6, 2020 by a 69-59 score.
With the Broncos:

- Texas State was picked to finish 10th in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll. Last season the Bobcats finished 4-14 in conference which that saw them finish 13th in the regular season standings.
- After week six of conference play, the Bobcats are 4-7 and sit in 10th place in the Sun Belt.
ABOUT THE CHANTICLEERS
- Coastal Carolina finished the 2023-24 season with a 12-21 record, going 5-13in Sun Belt play.
- They are currently 15-6 this season and 6-5 in conference play.
- The Chanticleers are coming off a 77-68 win over Louisiana last week.
- The Chanticleers are led by 24th year head coach Kevin Pederson who carries a 41-43 record in his three seasons with Coastal Carolina.
