HENDERSON, Nevada – Sakke Siltala fired his second consecutive round of 2-under to climb a pair of spots on the leaderboard and lead the Texas State men's golf team through the second round of action at the Lake Las Vegas Invitational at Reflection Bay Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.
Siltala shot a nearly blemish-free front nine that included four birdies and added a pair on the back to bring his tournament total to an even-best 12. He currently sits at -4 and in a tied for eighth.
As a team, Texas State is eighth with 18 holes to play after a second round 2-under brought its total to 2-over. Long Beach State leads the field at -25, Northern Illinois is second at -12 and Stetston rounds out the top three at -7.
Jack Burke registered an even par performance across the second 18 to stay within the top 20 at tied for 16th and 2-under.
Jaxon Donaldson who climbed four spots on the individual leaderboard shot 1-under, which included an eagle on No. 10, in the second round. The freshman is tied in the 58th spot with
Joel Talusen at +4. Talusen went 1-over on moving day. Rounding out the TXST lineup is
Ben Loveard, who sits 72nd at +7.
Individual
Enzo Dakiche improved three strokes from round one shooting even par to conclude round two in 49th at +3.
The final round of action resumes Wednesday with a 10:30 a.m. CT/8:30 a.m. PT shotgun start. The Bobcats are paired with Louisiana, TCU and Boise State.
