SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State volleyball got itself back in the win column with a sweep over ULM to start 'Dig Pink' weekend in Strahan Arena.

Jade Defraeye led the way for the Bobcats tonight with 10 kills and six blocks, alongside an impressive 17-dig night for
Alyssa Clark in just three sets. That, along with nine kills from
Samantha Wunsch and seven from
Maggie Walsh helped the Bobcats to a 3-0 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Texas State never trailed in set one. The team led by 15 to end the set for a match best, winning the first set 25-10. The Bobcats got out to a 8-1 lead early, never wavering from there. The Bobcats hit .542 in the first set with a 15-2-24 attack line while limiting ULM to just six kills and six errors. That, along with out-digging the Warhawks 14 to five helped Texas State start the match out on the right foot.
Set two was similar for the Bobcats, with the only tied score being 1-1, the Bobcats ran away with the set after that. The Bobcats pushed out to a 9-2 lead early in the set and never relinquished it. The team pushed to a 25-16 win in the second set, highlighted by five kills from Wunsch. The Warhawks hit in the negative in set two with seven kills and 10 errors on 32 swings.
It was a bit more of a battle in the early stages of the third set, with ULM keeping the match within two points until the Bobcats went on a run to make a 9-7 score a 13-8 score. From there, they were able to coast to a 25-18 score in set three to win the match.
Maggie Walsh and Defraeye each had four kills in the third set as part of the Bobcats 13.
After today's three set win, Texas State is 9-11 on the season and 4-5 in Sun Belt play.

UP NEXT
The Bobcats will face the ULM Warhawks tomorrow, Oct. 25 at 2 pm in hopes of sweeping the series. The team will then head on the road for a pair of matches at Southern Miss on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Both those matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
