Volleyball Sweeps Weekend with ULM

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State Volleyball completed the series sweep in straight sets after a second 3-0 win over ULM to end the Bobcats' Dig Pink Weekend.

Highlighting the night for the Bobcats was Jade Defraeye with 10 kills and seven blocks, her second-consecutive double-digit kill night. She and Nina Moorer each had 10 kills on the night to lead the Bobcats.

WHAT HEAD COACH SEAN HUIET SAID: "I'm really proud. I felt good about this weekend. Keith [Anderson] and I were just talking about how it's been a while since we swept ULM. They keep getting better and better. So to come in here and beat them 3-0 both matches, I feel good about that. I feel good about how we played our style of volleyball. Very pleased today.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Similarly to last night's match, Texas State was all gas, no breaks in the first set. They won the first set of the match and didn't waiver through the entirety of the set, winning 25-15 in the end. Highlighting the set was a 5-0 run at the end to put an exclamation mark on the opening set. Moorer and Bailey Hanner led the Bobcats in kills in the opening set with four apiece. The Bobcats also limited ULM's attack to a .026 attack percentage as the Warhawks tallied seven attack errors.

ULM won the first two points of the second set, but the Bobcats went on a 7-0 run that gave them a 7-2 lead. From there, the Bobcats were able to keep the Warhawks at bay the rest of the way through. They went on a bit of a run to end the set, but Texas State still held on to a 25-16 win in the end. Defraeye had a great second set with three blocks and six kills in that set alone to lead the Bobcats.

The Warhawks got out to a hot start, forcing the Bobcats to battle back. They pushed out to a match0best 16-11 lead at one point, but a 14-2 run for the Bobcats ended the match, Texas State winning 25-18 in the end. The Bobcats dug deep while they were down to get the clean sweep. Defraeye tallied an additional four bloicks in the third set, along with three from Moorer and Brooke Bentke.

After today's three set win, Texas State is 10-11 on the season and 5-5 in Sun Belt play.
