SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's basketball heads back out on the road for games at Southern Miss and ULM.
Texas State will face the Golden Eagles on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 pm. The Bobcats will then head to Monroe for a rematch with ULM on Feb. 1 at 2 pm. Both games will be streamed on ESPN+.
SERIES HISTORY
With the Golden Eagles:
- Texas State has a 2-2 record all-time against Southern Miss.
- Texas State won both meetings between the two teams in 2022-23, but lost both the meetings in the 2023-24 season.
With the Warhawks:
- Texas State has a 29-35 record all-time against ULM.
- Texas State lost the meeting between these two teams last week 66-74.
- Texas State has won eight of the last 10 meetings between these two teams since 2020.
MEET THE ROSTER
- The Freshmen: Texas State has four freshman, Heather Baymon, Saniya Burks, Takeira Ramey, and Melinda Winston.
- Three of the four freshmen played high school basketball in the state of Texas (Burks, Baymon, Winston) while Ramey is the lone freshman coming from out of state.
- All four freshman have seen minutes and scored this season.
- Takeira Ramey recently suffered an injury, though, and will be out for the rest of the season.
- The Transfers: Texas State has added six transfers, including five Division I transfers.
- The Returners: Antoine returns five members from 2023-2024 to this year's team.
AROUND THE SUN BELT
- Texas State was picked to finish 10th in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll. Last season the Bobcats finished 4-14 in conference which that saw them finish 13th in the regular season standings.
- After week five of conference play, the Bobcats are 3-6 and sit in 9th place in the Sun Belt.
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
- Southern Miss finished the 2023-24 season with a 20-14 record, going 10-8 in Sun Belt play.
- They are currently 7-13 this season and 3-6 in conference play.
- The Golden Eagles are coming off a 54-48 win over Marshall last week.
- Southern Miss is led by 34th year head coach Joye Lee-McNellis who carries a 565-456 record in her career. In her 21 seasons at Southern Miss, she is 336-300.

- The Warhawks are led by 2nd year head coach Missy Bildeerback who has a 29-25 record in her career.
- The Warhawks leading scorer is Jakayla Johnson who has 273 points so far this season for an average of 14.3 per game. Leading the team in rebounds is Sakiya White with 151.
- ULM will host South Alabama on Jan. 30 at 6:30 pm before the Bobcats come to town.

Texas State will return home for games with Coastal Carolina and Western Michigan. The Coastal Carolina game is Feb. 5 at 7 pm while the Western Michigan game is Feb. 8 at 2 pm.
