Kaliyah Murphy led the Bobcats in scoring tonight with 13 and 10, respectively, in the team's season finale at Arkansas State.

The high-scoring and high-press effort from Arkansas State helped the Redwolves to a 87-53 win to close out the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Redwolves started out the game on a 10-0 scoring run and would go on to limit the Bobcats to just nine points in the first quarter. Texas State struggled to shoot from the field, going just 2-8, while recording five points from the free throw line. Murphy came off the bench for four of the team's points. Turnovers allowed the home side to get more chances offensively, going 6-12 from the three-point arc in the first quarter.

Texas State remained at the line for a lot of the second quarter, with five of the team's 14 points coming from the line. The team shot 4-16 while Arkansas State continued to shoot efficient, particularly from three. Four more three-pointers helped Arkansas State lead 48-23 at the half.

The scoring woes found Texas State in the third quarter, with just eight points scored despite the team going a perfect 4-4 from the line. Arkansas State scored 24 on 9-19 shooting.

Texas State's best shooting quarter of the night was the fourth where they outscored Arkansas State 22-15. Texas State shot 8-15, highlighted by Murphy going 3-3. Walker, additionally, shot 2-4 with three made free throws for seven points in six minutes on the floor. Texas State remained effective at the line, going 6-6. Despite the team's best efforts in the fourth, they still fell 87-53.

After today's loss to Arkansas State, Texas State is now 11-18 on the season and 7-10 in Sun Belt.
