The Cowgirls head into Thursday on a two-match winning streak with wins at home over Louisiana Christian and Texas Southern. For the season, McNeese is 3-1-0 at home with the other victory being over Jackson State and the lone loss coming in the season opener to Louisiana.
Scoring a team leading two goals has been Salma Elhaimer, Kalie Kukaua and Morgan Schooley. The Cowgirls have recorded 10 assists on the year with one apiece to 10 different athletes.
In goal Jackie Kelly has started all eight matches. The senior comes in with 47 saves, a .758 save percentage and a 2.04 GAA. Celeste Marijnissen made her collegiate debut against Louisiana Christian and played the final 45 minutes. She stopped both shots that the Lady Wildcats put on frame.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 18-11-1. Last season saw the Bobcats win 3-1 at home in the season opener. That victory snapped TXST's six-match losing streak in the series.
When playing in Lake Charles, the Bobcats are 5-5-1 all-time with the last contest on Aug. 24, 2018 being a 2-1 defeat. Texas State's most recent win on the road a 1-0 overtime match on Oct. 17, 2010.
