POINT CLEAR, Ala. – Fia Lindblom shot 3-under 69 in the first round to tie for first while Texas State was 1-under 287 as a team to finish three shots back of the leader after day one of the Sun Belt Conference Women's Golf Championship at The Lakewood Club on Monday.

The Bobcats had three players in the top-12 of the individual leaderboard to help finish the first of three days of stroke play in second. ULM, the defending Sun Belt champions, leads the way with a 4-under 284.

Georgia Southern (E) and ODU (+2) rounded out the top-four after Monday's action. The top-four teams at the end of the final round of stroke play on Wednesday advance to Thursday's match play of semifinals and finals to determine the conference champion.

Lindblom, who teed off at hole 12, started and ended her day strong with two birdies and five pars on her first seven holes. She later ended the day with a birdie on two of her last three holes to finish in a three-way tie for first with Coastal Carolina's Hannah Karg and ULM's Daniela Campillo.

The trio hold a one-shot lead over three others who are tied for fourth.

Junia Gabasa also finished day one in the top-10 as she had an eagle and three birdies to card a 1-under 71 and placed in a tie for seventh after the first round.

Hailey Jones was tied for 12th with an even-par 72.

Carla Bourdeaux scored for the Bobcats with a 3-over 75. The freshman is tied for 28th.

The second round of stroke play will take place on Tuesday morning as the Bobcats, ULM and Georgia Southern will tee off starting at 9:30 am. The three teams will start at holes 11-15.
