MONROE, La. – Texas State hit three home runs on the afternoon but fell 10-8 to ULM on Saturday at Lou St. Amant Field. The three round trippers are the second most by the Bobcats in Sun Belt Conference play this season.

With the result, TXST drops to 17-19 overall and 5-9 in conference play while the Warhawks are now 17-17 on the year and 5-9 in the Sun Belt.

Gong yard on the day was
Rashawn Galloway,
Cade Manning and
Alec Patino with a three-run, two-run and solo homers, respectively. Both Manning and Patino finished with two base knocks apiece.

The trio of
Chase Mora,
Daylan Pena and
Kameron Weil had a double apiece. Pena extended his reached base streak to 31 games to tie David Wood's 2007 mark for the fourth longest in program history.

On the mound,
Sam Hall (1-4) allowed six runs on seven hits in 1.2 innings to take the loss. Credited with the win was Beau Blanchard (2-3) after giving up five runs on seven hits in the first three innings.

Cameron O'Banan tossed two scoreless innings of relief as he struck out two and induced two double plays. Both
Cameron Bush and
Jack Stroud held ULM off the scoreboard in their one inning of work.

TXST struck first its first time at the plate. Pena doubles to right center and would score on a throwing error on a grounder off the bat of Lugo.

It would be a short-lived lead as ULM answered back in the bottom of the frame with five runs including a grand slam by Ian Montz. The hosts would tack on another run in the second to go up by five.

With one gone in the third,
Alex Gonzales singled through the right side and Weil followed with a double down the left field line.
August Ramirez sent a 3-2 pitch back up the middle that was knocked down by the shortstop for an RBI single. However, Weil's made a wide turn at third and was caught in a rundown and tagged out.

Patino started the fourth off by sending a 2-2 pitch the opposite way over the left field wall for his third home run of the season. After Mora doubled down the first baseline, Manning went the opposite way for a two-run homer to cut the deficit to 6-5.

Again, the Warhawks answered back in the bottom of the inning with four runs to go back up by five.

The score would remain the same until the eighth.
Tyler Garritano and
Ethan Farris hit back-to-back singles, respectively. Galloway was called on to pinch hit and went the opposite way for a three-run long ball to make it a 10-8 deficit.

Bush held ULM scoreless in the next half inning, but TXST would be set down in order in the ninth to end the game.

Game three of the series will see the first pitch take place at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
