Softball Set to Host Texas A&M in Bobcat Softball Stadium

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball returns to play with a midweek game against #13 Texas A&M. The game will begin at 6 pm inside Bobcat Softball Stadium. 
 
Tickets are available at txst.com/tickets and the game will be streamed on ESPN+. There will be a radio call on KTSW 89.9. 
 
Last time these two teams met was in the 2023 NCAA Tournament Austin Regional on May 20. The Aggies won 4-2 that day, as well as the day prior by a 2-1 score line in eight innings. The Bobcats also lost the regular season meeting in College Station by a 8-0 score line.
 
The last time these two sides met inside Bobcat Softball Stadium, though, the Bobcats won 7-6. The last time the Aggies came to town was in the 2021 season.
 
ABOUT THE BOBCATS:
Texas State comes into the game with a 22-7 record and ranked No. 25 by D1 Softball and No. 19 by Softball America's poll. The Bobcats are also receiving votes in the NFCA poll. Texas State sits with the highest RPI in the Sun Belt, at No. 12
 
Leading the offense for the Bobcats going into the week is Hannah Earls who's batting .363. She has 37 hits, 20 runs and 4 RBI in 102 at-bats. Sara Vanderford is also helping the Bobcat offense with a .352 batting averaging as she's good for 30 hits, 21 runs and 23 RBI in 85 at-bats. Ciara Trahan is batting .344 and Anna Jones rounds out the top of the lineup with a .346. 
 
Jessica Mullins has been the Bobcats ace pitcher this season with her 0.79 ERA. She has pitched 97.1  innings so far this season with 96 strikeouts, 11 earned runs, 11 walked batters and just 13 extra-base hits allowed. She has tossed eight complete games included one perfect game.  
 
ABOUT THE AGGIES:
Texas A&M comes into the game off just the teams third loss of the season. They are 25-3 this season and ranked in all four top-25 polls this season. The Aggies other two losses came to Kansas and Weber State.

The Aggies have three players hitting over the .350 mark this season including Allie Enright (.418), Jazmine Hill (.392), and Koko Wooley (.352). Hill leads the Aggies in runs with 32 and has a team high 28 RBI. The Aggies hace four players with 20+ RBI this season.
 
Pitching for the Aggies has been primarily Emiley Kennedy. She has 13 wins this season in 19 appearances while tossing 89.1 innings. She has a 1.10 ERA while allowing 54 hits, 17 runs and walking 33 batters. She has struck out 110 batters and allowed just 10 extra-base hits. 
 
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats will head host App State this weekend in its first home conference series of the 2024 season. The Bobcats will play three games with the Mountaineers, beginning Friday, March 22 at 6 pm. All three games of the series will be on ESPN+.
