Jessica Mullins being named Pitcher of the Week and
Sara Vanderford being named Player of the Week.

Vanderford was named Player of the Week for her.400 batting average this week, with .700 slugging and a .429 OBP. She had four runs and five RBI in her eight hits this weekend. Additionally, Vanderford hit four extra base hits, including her home run against Grand Canyon in the Bobcats 6-0 win on Sunday afternoon.

This is Vanderford's fifth Sun Belt Player of the Week Award of her career, first of this season.

Jessica Mullins was named Pitcher of the Week for the seventh time in her collegiate career. She received two awards as a freshman and three as a sophomore, and one as a junior. This is her first of the 2024 season as the 2024 Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year.

The senior pitcher had a lights-out weekend in the Arizona. Mullins went 3-0 with wins against Arizona State, Ohio State and Grand Canyon. She also had two saves. Mullins pitched 20.1 innings. The pitcher had 29 strikeouts on the weekend including a career-high 13 in the 6-0 complete game shutout win over Grand Canyon where she allowed just two hits. Mullins had a 0.34 ERA this weekend with just one earned run and allowed just 13 hits while holding batters to a .176 average.
