SAN MARCOS, Texas— Texas State women's basketball closes out its non-conference slate with I-35 rival UTSA on Sunday afternoon. The game will tip off at 12 pm inside Strahan Arena.
This game will be part of the Bobcats 'Holiday Hoops' day which will include various holiday-themed activities and a visit from Santa Claus on the concourse of Strahan Arena. The game will also be part of a double header with Texas State men's basketball as they open conference play against Georgia Southern afterwards.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ or fans can buy tickets at txst.com/tickets.
SERIES HISTORY
• Texas State has a 38-33 record over UTSA.
• The Bobcats last win was in an overtime thriller in San Antonio last season. The Bobcats won 65-57 on Nov. 20, 2023.
• The Bobcats are currently on a six-game win streak dating back to 2016. Their last loss was Dec. 1, 2016 by a 72-47 scoreline.

- The Freshmen: Texas State has four freshman, Heather Baymon, Saniya Burks, Takeira Ramey, and Melinda Winston.
- Three of the four freshmen played high school basketball in the state of Texas (Burks, Baymon, Winston) while Ramey is the lone freshman coming from out of state.
- All four freshman have seen minutes and scored this season. Burks has become a mainstay in the Bobcats starting five, with five starts through the first nine games of the season.
- The Transfers: Texas State has added six transfers, including five Division I transfers.
- The Returners: Antoine returns five members from 2023-2024 to this year's team.
THE BOBCAT BENCH:
- Texas State is currently ranked No. 27th in the nation for its average of 30.3 bench points a night. The Bobcats have outscored their opponent's bench in six of their eight games so far.

ABOUT THE ROADRUNNERS
- UTSA finished the 2023-24 season with an 18-15 record, going 10-8 in the American Athletic Conference.
- They are currently 8-2 this season with their last loss being to Stanford, who's receiving votes in the AP and ESPN polls, by five. Their only other loss was to Texas A&M by four.
- The Roadrunners are led by 4th year head coach Karen Alston who has a 46-59 record in her time with the program.
