SAN MARCOS, TX — Texas State softball head coach Ricci Woodard and the Bobcat softball coaching staff have announced the additions of five players to its 2025 Signing Class. 

The Bobcats add Texas locals Chesney Davis, Camryn Plocheck, Ava Renteria and Sophie Sandel as well as New York native Kaili Witherell.

Chesney Davis | 5'8" | P | Montgomery, Texas
Davis is a pitcher out of Montgomery, Texas who prepped at Lake Creek High School … she was named 6A All-District First Team in 2022 and 2023 … was named 2023 Softball Team MVP and 2023 5A All-District First Team … was also named 2024 5A All-Academic … was a 2024 5A Lake Creek Softball All-Star Selection … was named 2024 All Vype 3rd Team … played for the Texas Bombers from 10U-18U 

Camryn Plocheck | 5'9" | INF | Deer Park, Texas
Plocheck is a middle infielder out of Deer Park, Texas and prepped at Deer Park High School .. she played four years of varsity volleyball and three years of varsity softball at Deer Park … played travel ball for Illusions Gold 18u 
 
Ava Renteria | 5'10" | INF | Boerne, Texas
Renteria is a third basemen out of Boerne, Texas … she prepped at Boerne High School … was a four-year letterman … while playing for the Greyhounds she was a regional quarter finalist and all-district honorable mention infielder … was also named academic all-district and Alliance National Champion Tier 1 in 2022 … played travel ball for the Texas Bombers … was also on Student Leadership Council and a HOSA member
 
Sophie Sandel | 5'4" | C | Deer Park, Texas
Sandel is a catcher out of Deer Park, Texas who prepped at La Porte High School … in 2023 she was named District 18 5A Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, MVP and Academic All District … in 2022 she was named MVP and 1^st Team All District … Sandel also played varsity volleyball where she was named 2023 Academic All-District, 1^st Team All District, Defensive Player of the Year and in 2021 was named MVP … was also a National Honor Society member … played travel ball for Illusions Gold 
 
Kaili Witherell | 5'6" | P | Bath, New York
Witherell is a native of Bath, New York who prepped at Haverling High School … the pitcher was a three time MVP and was named 2024 Player of the Year … was also named 2024 Queen of the Hill and holds Haverlings all-time strikeout record … she played travel ball for Conklin Raiders Gold 16u and Impact Caymol Premier for 18u
