Sakke Siltala was named the Sun Belt Conference Golfer of the Week following his season-best placement at the Kapolei Invitational held Tuesday-Thursday in O'ahu.
The junior tied for second in the 87-player field to help lead the Bobcats to finish tied for fourth on the team leaderboard, the best outing for the team this campaign. Siltala carded a season-low 66 in the event's opening round and went on to register rounds of 74 and 73 to see all three rounds count toward the team's score. His opening round included four birdies, an eagle and zero bogies.
For the season, Siltala has seen all nine of his rounds count towards the team score across three tournaments, while posting four rounds in the 60s and seven under par. Siltala registered a season-low stroke average for the Bobcats of 70.00 across the 2024 portion of the schedule and had two top three finishes as well as an additional inside the top 20. He has finished all three tournaments under par, including 12-under to finish third at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.
Siltala and the Bobcats return to action February 10-11, 2025, at The Hal Williams Collegiate in Mobile, Alabama.
