SAN MARCOS, Texas – The regular season concludes on Thursday when Texas State (9-4-5, 5-1-3 Sun Belt) hosts Georgia Southern (6-10-2, 3-5-1 Sun Belt) at the Bobcat Soccer Complex for a 6 p.m. kickoff. It is also Senior Night for the Bobcats, who will recognize the team's seniors prior to the match.

About Texas State
On Sunday, TXST clinched its spot in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament with a 1-0 victory at App State. It was the team's fifth road win of the season, which is tied for the second most in a season in team history. The Bobcats will enter the tournament as either the third or fourth seed.
Mady Soumare enters having scored a team-high six goals with three of them being match-winners. Netting four goals apiece has been

Victoria Meza and
Sydney Bassa. Three of Bassa's tallies have come from the penalty spot and Ulloa has converted two penalty kicks.

Mady Soumare have been credited with a team leading four assists. The trio of

Between the posts,
Caitlyn Draper has a .824 save percentage that ranks second in the conference. The sophomore also sports a 1.04 GAA with 56 saves. Starting the past two matches has been
Katelyn Chrisman. She has a 1.25 GAA with 15 saves and a .625 save percentage with two shutouts that both came last week. Her performance in goal saw her be named the Sun Belt's Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
About Georgia Southern
The Eagles are coming off a come from behind 2-2 draw on Sunday against Southern Miss. Georgia Southern is currently ninth in the conference standings with 10 points, one behind the Golden Eagles. To qualify for the tournament, the Eagles will need to either win and see ULM win or draw against USM or tie with the Bobcats and have ULM win. On the road this season, GS is 2-4-0 in true road matches with a 2-2-0 mark in conference play.
Smith Cathey leads the squad with eight goals, 19 points, 33 shots and 22 shots on goal. Five of her goals have come against Sun Belt opponents. Claire Casey has scored four times and Kyleigh Drew has recorded three goals. A team leading five assists belong to Erin Wilkins.
In goal, Katie Oakley has played and started 13 matches. She sports a 1.34 GAA with 47 saves and a .746 save percentage. Making eight appearances with five starts has been Quinn Wilson. The sophomore enters Thursday with a 1.15 GAA, 27 saves and a .794 save percentage.
Series History
Texas State leads the all-time series 4-2-2. Last time the teams met was Sept. 22, 2022 in Statesboro, Georgia that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Addison Peters headed home the match-tying goal in the 68th minute off a corner kick from Juana Plata.
A 3-0-0 record has been recorded by the Bobcats when they are hosting the Eagles. Oct. 27, 2019 was the last time the teams played in San Marcos that ended with a 3-0 score. Twice before Texas State has faced Georgia Southern on its Senior Day/Night with the first in 2015 and second time being the 2019 match.
