NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference offices announced Tuesday morning that Texas State outside hitter Samantha Wunsch was named Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week for week 9.

Wunsch was the best in the conference this week with her 5.29 kills per set. The redshirt sophomore hit .477 on the week with 37 kills on 65 attempts and averaged 5.57 points per set, which was also the most of anyone in the conference. Wunsch hit .477 this week in seven sets, which was the best of anyone in the conference with more than 40 attempts this weekend. She was also the only person over 35 kills in the conference this weekend, which she reached in just seven sets of work.  
 
Wunsch helped the Bobcats to a team attack percentage of .275, which was amongst the best in the conference this week. Wunsch also had the highest attack percentage in a single match this weekend with a .630 (18-1-27) against ULM. In that match, she also had the conference's highest three-set kill total with 18. Wunsch continued her streak of double-digit kill outings this weekend, with two more to make it 14 consecutive games in double-digits.

This is Wunsch's second Sun Belt Player of the Week Award this season, and the fourth of her career at Texas State. She received two Player of the Week honors in 2023.

Catch the Bobcats in action as they continue conference play this weekend at home against Southern Miss in Strahan Arena. The matches at will be Nov. 1 at 6 pm and Nov. 2 at 2 pm. They will both be streamed on ESPN+.
