SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball will host its first-ever 1
st Pitch Dinner ahead of the 2024 season. The dinner will be held on Jan. 27 at Rising Sun Vineyard in McDade, Texas from 3-6 p.m and will feature three-time Team USA Olympic medalist Cat Osterman.
Osterman is a three-time Olympic medalist for Team USA. She was a part of the team that won the Gold for Team USA in the 2004 Olympics. Osterman also has two Olympic silver medals from 2008 and 2020. In addition to her Olympic success, she is one of the most decorated college softball players of all time. She attended the University of Texas where she was a four-time All American and Big 12 Pitcher of the Year. Osterman owns the all-time record for Big 12 wins, ERA, strikeouts, shutouts, no-hitters, WHIP and perfect games.
The Bobcats will begin their season on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. against I-35 rival UTSA in the first day of a four-day tournament where they will host the Roadrunners, Northwestern State, SIU, Creighton and Kennesaw State.
