SERIES HISTORY
- The Bobcats have won five of the 15 meetings with Troy. The last time the Bobcats faced the Trojans was Feb. 2, 2023 where the Trojans had a late-staged victory and won 84-78.
- The series with Arkansas State is split 10-10 in its history between these two schools. The Bobcats lost the last meeting 73-48 on Jan. 11, 2024. Prior to that, though, the Bobcats were on a four-game win streak.
MEET THE ROSTER
- Ja'Niah Henson came to Texas State after four years at Morgan State. She's averaging 14.1 points per game, the most of any Bobcat. In the Bobcats game against Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, she scored her 1000th career point as well. She is amongst the best free-throw shooters in the nation, shooting 92.4% from the line.
- Gara Beth Self transferred to Texas State after playing four years at ULM. She and Henson are co-captain for the Bobcats.
- The Bobcats also brought in Western Kentucky transfer Jaylin Foster. Both Foster and Self have been consistent members of the starting five for the Bobcats in each of the games so far this season.
- Tiffany Tullis and Crystal Smith join the Bobcats after two years at Blinn Junior College where the pair reached the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship tournament. Tullis has started in all of the Bobcats games so far this season.
- The Bobcats had four players returning to the team this season including seniors Sierra Dickson, Nicole Leff and Morgan Hill. Dickson and Leff are the only seniors on the roster who have played their full four years at Texas State. Additionally, sophomore Kennedy Claybrooks is amongst the returners.
- The Bobcats also have two freshman, Julia Coleman and Emillia Steele.
ABOUT THE TROJANS
- The Red Wolves are 7-8 season, 4-1 in conference play and are 2nd in the Sun Belt Conference so far.
- Leading the way for the Trojans is head coach Chanda Rigby who is in her 12th season with the program. She has a 216-139 record all-time with the program.
- Makayia Hallmon leads the scoring for the Trojans as she averages 17.1 points a night.
- Leading the boards for Troy is Ja'Mia Hollings who is averaging 7.7 rebounds a night. Tai'Sheka Porchia averages 7.5 rebounds a game as well.
ABOUT THE RED WOLVES
- The Red Wolves are 8-7 this season, 2-3 in conference play and are 8th in the Sun Belt Conference so far.
- Leading the way for the Red Wolves is head coach Destinee Rogers who is in her 3rd season with the program. She has a 29-36 record all-time with the program.
- Izzy Higginbottom leads the scoring for the Red Wolves as she averages 21.5 points a night. Higginbottom is also good for 4.0 rebounds a night and 3.1 assists.
- Leading the boards for Arkansas State is Wynter Rogers who is averaging 6.4 rebounds a night. She's also good for 4.6 points a night.

- Ja'Niah Henson is first in the Sun Belt Conference and 4th in the nation for her free throw shooting. The graduate student is 61-66 from the line this season for a .924 shooting percentage.
- Henson is also 12th in the Sun Belt for her 14.1 point per game average.
- Tiffany Tullis is 11th in the conference for rebounds with 122 so far this season.
- The Bobcats are the second best three-point shooting team in the Sun Belt Conference, shooting 34.3% from beyond the arc.
- Texas State is also amongst the best defenses in the Bobcats, the second best in the conference while allowing opponents just 60.2 points a night
WHATS ON THE HORIZON?
- The Bobcats will head back out on the road for two games next week. The team will see South Alabama on Jan. 25 and Louisiana on Jan. 27.
- The only remaining non-conference game for the Bobcats will be on Feb. 10 against a to-be-determined MAC opponent for the second part of the MAC-SBC Challenge. This game will be on the road since the Sun Belt women's teams played at home for the first part of the MAC-SBC Challenge. The opponent will be determined based on NET Rankings in January.
