Road Trip to Take on HCU

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team (2-3-0) looks to get back into the win column on Sunday when it travels to take on Houston Christian (1-2-0) on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. from Sorrels Field.

About Texas State
The Bobcats are coming off its third straight match in which it has failed to find the back of the net. The match against the Huskies is the second of three consecutive road Sunda contests. Zoe Junior leads the team with two goals while Lily Erb, Lucy Hart, Victoria Meza and Olivia Wright have totaled three points with a goal and an assist apiece. Pacing the squad with two assists is Bailey Peschel, with both coming on Junior's goals. A team-high 13 shots and six shots on goal has been recorded by Alexis Neal.
 
Katelyn Chrisman has started the last three matches in goal on her way to posting a 2.42 GAA with 16 saves and a .696 save percentage. Both Beth Agee and Cailyn Draper have started a match apiece between the posts and have stopped a shot each.
 
About Houston Christian
HCU picked up its first win of the season on Thursday after downing Sam Houston 2-1 on Thursday in its home opener. The Huskies opened the year with two losses in Hawaii to Gonzaga and Utah Valley. The next weekend saw HCU cancel both of their matches due to illnesses within the program.
 
Alexa Huerta leads the team with three points having recorded a goal and an assist. Also finding the back of the net once has been Emily Jaimes and Olivia Rossman. All 270 minutes in goal has been played by Chloe Bagshaw, who sports a 3.00 GAA with 12 saves and a .571 save percentage.
 
All-Time vs. Huskeis
Texas State is undefeated in the all-time series with a 6-0-2 record. Last season, the Bobcats won 2-1 at home with the match-winner coming from Junior in the 62nd minute. TXST is 1-0-2 all-time when facing HCU on the road. The last two matches ended in 1-1 draws (2012 & 2020) while the lone victory was a 3-1 contest on Sept. 19, 2010.
