ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After two rounds and a weather delay on the first day of the Dick McGuire Invitational, Texas State women's golf is tied for 10
th. Freshman
Carla Bourdeaux leads the Bobcats in the top-15.
In the first tournament of the season, Texas State recorded a first round total of 298 and improved in the second round going four-over 292. The Bobcats finished the day in a three-way tie for 10
th with SMU and Oregon State 14-over par on the UNM Championship Course.
Pepperdine holds the top spot going 14-under after two rounds.
Four out of five Bobcats' second round was their lowest of the day. In
Carla Bourdeaux's collegiate debut, she is at the top of the Bobcat lineup after shooting two-under par with seven birdies. The freshman was the only Bobcat to record an under-par round.
Mattingly Palmer went four-over par on day one and is tied for 36
th. With no birdies and five bogey's in the first round,
Yvonne Chamness shot two-over par in the second round with a three stroke improvement.
