ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – In the first tournament of the season, Texas State women's golf finished tied for 12
th in the Dick McGuire Invitational at the UNM Championship course.
Carla Bourdeaux led the Bobcats with a top-25 finish.
Texas State fell two spots on the leaderboard after the final round. The Bobcats shot 296 in the third round, their second-lowest 18-hole total of the tournament. Texas State tied for 12
th with Northwestern, finishing 22-over 886.
Pepperdine won the team championship after going 14-under 850.
Freshman
Carla Bourdeaux led the Bobcats in all three rounds in her collegiate debut and finished tied for 24
th two-over par. Bourdeaux recorded an under par and even round in the tournament.
Mattingly Palmer finished second in the Bobcat lineup at four-over par, with her best round of the tournament today, going even. Palmer and
Yvonne Chamness had the best third round 18-hole total among Texas State. Chamness stayed within the top-50, ending the tournament seven-over par with four birdies in today's round.
In her first outing for Texas State,
Hailey Jones recorded her second round of 76 in the tournament and went 10-over par.
Marine Griffaut rounds out the Bobcat lineup at 18-over par.
