Coaches' Night in San Marcos Set for August 22

Alumni and fans can hear from head coaches to preview the upcoming fall seasons

SAN MARCOS, Texas – To get ready for the upcoming 2023 fall seasons, Texas State Athletics will host a special Coaches' Night presented by Greater Texas Credit Union in San Marcos on August 22 at Palmer's Restaurant Bar & Courtyard. The event for Bobcat fans and alumni will feature head football coach GJ Kinne, head volleyball coach Sean Huiet, and head soccer coach Steve Holeman along with Texas State Director of Athletics Don Coryell.
 
The opportunity to interact and hear from Texas State coaches and leaders will start at 6 p.m. and be hosted at Palmer's, which is located in downtown San Marcos (218 Moore St., San Marcos, TX 78666). The event is free to the public but all attendees are asked to RSVP.

The Coaches' Night in San Marcos is hosted by the Bobcat Club and Texas State Alumni Association. The event will offer alumni and fans a chance to hear the head coaches preview their respective teams and the upcoming seasons. Attendees can also purchase season tickets and Texas State merchandise at the event to help support the Bobcats.

The soccer season starts at home on August 17 against McNeese. Volleyball, meanwhile, starts its season on August 25 with the Tennessee Classic before hosting the Texas Invitational from Aug. 31-Sept. 2 to open its home schedule.

Football starts its first season under Kinne on Sept. 2 at Baylor before hosting its home opener on Sept. 16 against Jackson State.
