Svahn and Griffaut Named to Sun Belt All-Conference Teams

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Matilda Svahn and Marine Griffaut of the Texas State women's golf program earned Sun Belt All-Conference Team honors, the conference announced Friday. 
 
Sun Belt All-Conference teams for women's golf are determined by Golfstat rankings. 
 
Matilda Svahn earned her first postseason honor after being named to the All-Sun Belt First Team. Svahn finished the season as the fifth-best player in the conference, ranked 298. The sophomore competed in all 11 tournaments this season and recorded a finish in the top-5, top-10, and top-25. Svahn's best finish came at the Texas State Invitational when she tied for fifth to open the spring season. 
 
At the Schooner Classic Svahn recorded her career 54-hole low of 217. The Porvoo, Finland native finished the season with five under par rounds, two in the 60s, and had a season-low round of 67. Svahn led the team in pars with 352, was second in eagles with two, and recorded 73 birdies. 
 
Marine Griffaut was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team, this marks the third time in her collegiate career being named to a conference team. In Griffaut's freshman and sophomore seasons she was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team. Griffaut holds the second position on the conference team with a 331 ranking. 
 
In her junior season, Griffaut competed in all tournaments with her best finish coming at the Texas State Invitational when she tied for second, one of her two top-5 finishes of the season. Griffaut shot her 54-hole total season-low of 213 three times this season. The junior had three eagles and 93 birdies on the season, leading the team in both categories. Griffaut finished first in the Bobcat lineup five times.
