Box Score LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – In game three of its series with Louisiana, the Bobcats were shutout for the second time of conference play when the Ragin' Cajuns stopped them 7-0 on Sunday afternoon.

After a series with two high-scoring first innings, game three versus the Ragin' Cajuns started off just the opposite. Both sides were unable to get past second base in the first two innings and went scoreless headed into the third.

Karsen Pierce started on the mound for the Bobcats. It was her 12
th start of the season. She allowed just one hit in the opening two innings to keep the Ragin' Cajuns off the board.

The Ragin' Cajuns took the lead in the third when the there was a pair of errors from
Megan Kelnar and
Katarina Zarate that helped the team score two unearned runs.

Momentum started to switch in favor of the Bobcats in the top of the fourth, but it wasn't quite enough to get on the board. After
Piper Randolph singled up the middle,
JJ Smith and
Claire Ginder were walked to load the bases. Kelnar would strike out, though, to end the inning and keep it a 1-0 game.

The game became all Cajuns in the fourth when they tacked on a second run off a double down the left field line. From there, the Cajuns loaded the bases once more off an error, a wild pitch and when Pierce hit a batter. Louisiana then tacked on three more runs off a throwing error and a double to left center.

At the end of a four run, three hit and two error inning by the Cajuns they'd hold a 5-0 lead.
Jessica Mullins would come in to pitch.

The Bobcats went three for three in the fifth before Mullins would pitch two ground outs and a lineout to send the game to the sixth inning.

The Cajuns tacked on two more runs in the sixth and after the Bobcats were unable to get any consolation runs and the game would end 7-0. The Ragin' Cajuns shut out the Bobcats for just the team's fifth time this season.

Up next the Bobcats will head to College Station, Texas to face the Aggies of Texas A&M in a midweek game. From there, Texas State will return home for a weekend series with ULM beginning April 21 at 6 p.m. inside Bobcat Softball Stadium.
