SAN MARCOS, Texas – After two upsets against top-10 nationally ranked programs on the weekend, the Bobcats swept the Sun Belt Conference weekly awards in the playing period ending March 12
th, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Piper Randolph was named Player of the Week for her team-high .467 batting average, with .600 slugging and a .500 OBP. She had two runs and seven RBI in her seven hits this weekend. Additionally, Randolph hit the triple on the weekend that was good for the RBI that won Texas State its game against No. 10 Texas. One of Randolph's two runs this weekend also came against No. 9 Alabama in the Bobcats' 3-1 win.
"[Randolph] has worked extremely hard to execute her game plan every at bat," said Head Coach
Ricci Woodard. "I could not be more excited for her today."
This is Randolph's first Sun Belt Player of the Week Award.
Jessica Mullins was named Pitcher of the Week for the sixth time in her collegiate career. She received two awards as a freshman and three as a sophomore. This is her first Pitcher of the Week award of the 2023 season.

Jessica Mullins is on the mound she is going to give us a chance to win a ballgame," said Woodard. "She loves to compete and never backs down from a challenge. I could not be more proud of her execution this past weekend."
The junior pitcher had an outstanding weekend in the Bevo Classic. Mullins went 2-1 with wins against No. 9 Alabama and No. 10 Texas where she pitched 25 innings for three complete games. Mullins threw 378 pitches, allowing just nine runs on 17 hits. The pitcher had 22 strikeouts on the weekend including eight in the 3-1 win over Alabama where she allowed just two hits. She averaged a 1.11 ERA, holding opponents to a .185 batting average in the Bevo Classic.
Mullins and Randolph will return to play on March 14
th for a doubleheader against Texas Tech before heading on the road to open conference play at South Alabama.
