States Up Podcast: Zenarae Antoine

Head women's basketball coach discusses the championship season and what made this group of Bobcats special

SAN MARCOS, Texas – In the latest States Up podcast, Texas State women's basketball head coach Zenarae Antoine joins to discuss the championship season the Bobcats had in 2022-23, what was the turning point during the season, and what is ahead for the team as it looks toward the WNIT that starts on March 15.

The Bobcats captured their first regular season conference title in 15 years behind the efforts of six "COVID" seniors as well as the rest of the team plus the leadership of conference coach of the year, Coach Antoine. She has helped guide the team to 23 wins so far and an appearance in the Sun Belt Basketball Championship title game in Pensacola earlier this week.

In the podcast, Antoine dives in to what it took to get the team to that point of winning a conference title, what it meant to win for a group of Bobcats that included several key players who made the decision to return, why the word "loyalty" encapsulates this year's team, what she looks for in building a coaching staff, and more.

The podcast can be heard on SpotifyApple, Amazon Music, and Google.
