KYLE, Texas – Texas State women's golf is in first place with a 25-stroke lead after two rounds at the Texas State Invitational at Plum Creek Golf Club Monday, Feb. 6.
Marine Griffaut is tied for first after recording a new season-low round.
The Bobcats battled through strong winds to hold on to the top spot in both rounds in a field of eight teams. Texas State finished 10-over par with a 25-stroke lead on second place Cincinnati.
Individual
Six Bobcats ended day one in the top-10.
Marine Griffaut is tied for first after moving up five spots in the second round after shooting three-under 68, a new season-low round. The junior had three back-to-back birdies in the final round of the day. Griffaut is tied with Katie Hallinan from Cincinnati after going even on the course.
Freshman
Yvonne Chamness is the top-finisher for the individual competitors after finishing three-over par.
Mattingly Palmer joins her in the three-way tie for third after registering an under-par first round.
Junia Gabasa went even in the second round and
Matilda Svahn recorded a 68 in the first round but fell five spots with an 80 in the following round.
Federica Tavelli-Westerlund finished second among individuals going two-over par in the final round of the day.
