HUMBLE, Texas – Junia Gabasa set a new 54-hole low and claimed a spot in the top-10 on the final day of the ICON Invitational, Texas State closed out the tournament in 12
th at the Golf Club of Houston.
The Bobcats shot seven-over 295 in the final round and finished the tournament five-over 869, a new season-low score to par. They shot their highest round today to finish 12
th in a field of 16 teams, 12 being ranked in the top-50.
Texas State finished with a five-stroke lead over No. 35 Tulsa. The team championship was claimed by No. 10 Texas A&M with a 34-under finish.
Junia Gabasa tied for 10
th after shooting four-over in the final round and ended the tournament seven-under 209. The junior recorded a new season 54-hole low and had her second-best finish this season. Gabasa was the only Bobcat to finish the tournament under par and had the fourth highest number of birdies, a total of 13.
Matilda Svahn shot on par 38 times over three rounds and tied for 48
th after going two-over in the final round.
Yvonne Chamness climbed nine spots on the leaderboard with the help of five birdies for her second round of one-under par.
