SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State will wrap up its stretch of three straight home games with Heroes Day on Saturday when it takes on Georgia Southern at Bobcat Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4 pm, with gates opening at 2:30 pm.
The Saturday afternoon game, which was announced earlier this week with the 4 pm start time, will feature a matchup between two of the top teams in the Sun Belt and plenty to offer fans, including:
TXST Thunder Sticks Giveaway
The first few thousand fans will receive free Texas State thunder sticks. Fans can pick up theirs at gates 1, 2, 3 and 6.
Heroes Day
Texas State will honor retired and active duty military members throughout the game as part of Heroes Day.
Fans can support veterans, active military personnel, first responders and healthcare workers by purchasing the Heroes Day Ticket Package, which includes two tickets that will be donated to those groups to go to the game.
Military families can also request tickets through Texas State's partnership with
Vet Tix.
President's Kick for Tuition
Three Texas State students at the game will be randomly selected to kick a 35-yard field goal at halftime with the opportunity to win free tuition for the Fall 2024 semester. If none of the three students make the field goal at halftime, students will be invited to the field after the game and attempt a 35-yard field goal, which means one lucky student will walk out of Bobcat Stadium on Saturday night with free tuition for Fall 2024.
Students can learn more about the opportunity with the
specific rules.
Cat Walk in Tailgate Central
Fans can welcome the team to Bobcat Stadium with the Cat Walk tradition at 1:30 pm. The team will arrive in Lot 5 along Aquarena Springs Drive, and all fans are invited to cheer on the team as they enter the stadium on gameday.
Tailgate Central Spots are Available
Tailgate Central, located in Lot 5, still has spots available for fans to purchase their tailgate spots closest to Bobcat Stadium. Spots are $20 each and must be
purchased in advance.
There are also two other areas around Bobcat Stadium for fans to tailgate, including the Aquarena Field and UEC Field. These green spaces, which are free to tailgate in, offer plenty of space for fans and their gameday experience. Vehicle parking is not permitted in the Aquarena field or UEC green space, however, and fans are able to park for free in the Meadows Center and UEC lot before setting up their tailgate.
For those that already purchased Tailgate Central spots, the lot will open at 10 am. All vehicles need to enter Lot 5 along Aquarena Springs Drive while any exiting vehicles will do so along Charles Austin Drive.
Prepaid Parking
Fans are asked to purchase parking in advance at
TXST.com/tickets. There are spots available in Lot 5, Mill Street and Thorpe Lane.
All fans are encouraged to download their digital parking passes to their phones before leaving for the stadium.
