SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State student-athletes achieved another academic year of success in 2021-22 as 151 Bobcats representing all Texas State athletic programs were named to the Sun Belt Conference Commissioner's List and Academic Honor Roll for the 2021-22 academic year, the conference office announced on Thursday.
Of the 151 student-athletes, 85 were named to the Commissioner's List while 66 to the Academic Honor Roll.
The Commissioner's List honors student-athletes who earned a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) or better during the 2021-22 academic year while the Academic Honor Roll highlights those student-athletes who maintained a GPA between 3.00 and 3.49.
Football led the way for the number of athletes recognized as they had 32 academic honorees. Other totals for each program include 19 women's track and field and cross country, 16 soccer, 15 baseball, 15 volleyball, 12 softball, 10 men's track and field and cross country, 9 women's basketball, 8 men's golf, 7 tennis, 5 women's golf, and 3 men's basketball.
In total, more than 2,000 student-athletes at the member institutions of the Sun Belt earned conference academic honors in 2021-22.
