SAN MARCOS, Texas – In the newest States Up podcast, Texas State football radio broadcaster
Geff Gandy – who is also a former Baylor football player – looks ahead at the big matchup against the nationally-ranked Bears this weekend as well as looks back at his playing days and radio career.
Gandy was an outside linebacker for Baylor from 1979 to 1982, where he was a two-year starter and team captain. He helped the team win the Southwest Conference in 1980 and is one of the top tacklers in program history to this day.
He went on to play in the NFL for four years, including being drafted by the Washington Redskins in 1983.
After retiring from the NFL and passing up the opportunity to go down the path of trying to be a college football coach, Gandy elected to get into football radio broadcasting. He got his start doing high school football games in the state of Texas before joining the Texas State broadcasts in 2020.
