Texas State Athletics and Hays Electrical Services Announce Transformational Partnership

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State Athletics and Hays Electrical Services today announced a historic, long-term partnership supporting the university's continued growth and its new era in the Pac-12 Conference.

The comprehensive partnership includes a $10 million capital commitment, the third largest one-time commitment in Texas State University history and the largest capital projects commitment in Texas State Athletics history—alongside a multi-year corporate partnership with Texas State Sports Properties, bringing the partnership's total potential value to more than $11 million.

Of the capital commitment, $8 million will support construction of the recently announced University Fieldhouse, while $2 million will support construction of the softball and baseball performance center. Together, the projects will provide dedicated spaces for Texas State student-athletes to train, fuel, and study.

The partnership will also establish mentorship, internship, leadership development, and career pipeline initiatives connecting Texas State students and student-athletes with opportunities across Hays Electrical Services. Hays recently opened its Central Texas headquarters in San Marcos and continues to expand its footprint nationwide.

"At Hays, we have always believed the strongest organizations are built by investing in people early, developing leaders, and creating opportunities that outlast any single project," said Eric Hays, Founder and CEO of Hays Electrical Services. "Texas State University is experiencing incredible momentum, and Texas State Athletics represents the kind of vision, culture, and long-term growth we want to align with. This partnership is about much more than facilities or branding. It is about supporting students, investing in the future of Central Texas, and helping build something lasting for generations to come."

"This partnership reflects the extraordinary momentum we are building at Texas State and our ambitions for the future," said President Kelly Damphousse. "Hays Electrical Services is a Texas success story, and they share our belief that the best investment we can make is in people. Their generosity will create new opportunities for our students and student-athletes today while helping us build a stronger Texas for generations to come."

"This is a transformational partnership for Texas State Athletics and one that aligns directly with where our university and athletics department are headed," said Director of Athletics Don Coryell. "Partnerships like this elevate the student-athlete experience, support major facility growth, and position Texas State Athletics for success in the Pac-12. With the Hays family already proud members of the Bobcat family, we are excited to expand that relationship through Hays Electrical Services. We are grateful for their support of our student-athletes and look forward to all we can accomplish together in this exciting new era for Texas State."

The $10 million capital commitment advances Texas State Athletics toward the $50 million goal of Light the Star: A Brighter Future for Texas State Athletics.
