Women’s Tennis Releases 2022-23 Schedule

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State women's tennis announced the 2022-23 schedule that features six matches against first-time opponents, four of them being new Sun Belt Conference members.
 
The Bobcats will have a 16-match streak of playing in Texas, and just six games not taking place in the Lone Star State. Their first out-of-state match is in March, and they will have just five conference matches not at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
 
To kick off Kendall Brooks first season as the head coach of the Bobcats, the team will open their fall portion of the schedule on Sept. 9 with the ASU Slam Fest for the second season in a row. The following week on Sept. 16, the Bobcats will be competing at the Javelina Jam for the first time in Kingsville, Texas. 
 
To close out the month of September, Texas State will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to compete at the five-day ITA Texas Regional Championships. 
 
The Bobcats round out their fall schedule with the annual TXST Fall Invite, formerly known as the Texas State Play Day, on Oct. 8-9. 
 
The spring season opens with Sam Houston on Jan. 27 in Huntsville, Texas, the Bobcats have not seen the Bearkats since 2020. The team will have a quick turnaround when they travel to Houston on Jan. 28 to face the Cougars. The Bobcats will have just one match the following week in San Antonio to take on UIW Feb. 4. 
 
Texas State will welcome Tarleton State to the Bobcat Tennis Complex for their first home match of the spring season on Saturday, Feb. 11. One day later, the team will make a trip down I-35 to UTSA. 
 
The Bobcats will have a 7-match home streak beginning with Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, Feb. 19. The following Sunday, Northwestern State comes to San Marcos, both matches will be at 11 a.m. 
 
In the timespan of March 2-18, Texas State will face four opponents for the first time in program history. Texas State will face St. John's Thursday, March 2 at 2 p.m. New Sun Belt Conference members, James Madison, Old Dominion, and Southern Miss will be making their first appearance at the Bobcat Tennis Complex. The matchup with JMU will open conference play Friday, March 10 at 1 p.m., Old Dominion Sunday, March 12 at 10 a.m., and Southern Miss Saturday, March 18. 
 
The Bobcats hit the road for one weekend to take their first trip outside of Texas to face Georgia Southern Saturday, March 10 and Coastal Carolina Sunday, March 26, both 10 a.m. matches. 
 
Texas State returns to San Marcos for three matches, hosting Brown for the first time in program history at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29. Marshall, the fourth addition to the Sun Belt Conference, will face the Bobcats at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 31. To cap off the weekend, Texas State will play App State Sunday, April 2 at 10 a.m.
 
The following matches for the Bobcats will both be at 10 a.m. at Georgia State on April 8, and at Troy April 9. Texas State will take on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in Lafayette April 15 at 10 a.m. 
 
The Bobcats will close out the regular season hosting ULM April 22 at 10 a.m. 
 
Coach Brooks will lead the team into the Sun Belt Conference Championships April 27-30 in Peach Tree, Georgia.
