SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the first time this season, the Texas State soccer team (2-0-0) hits the road for a match. The Bobcats travel to the coast to take on Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2-0-0) on Thursday with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer Stadium.

About Texas State
TXST began the season with back-to-back shutouts with victories over Incarnate Word and St. Mary's (TX). It was the fourth time (2019, 2016 & 2004) that the Bobcats have their first two matches of a season and third time (2019 & 2016) with consecutive shutouts.

Finding the back of the net on opening weekend was
Madi Goss,
Zoe Junior,
Bailey Peschel and
Wimberley Wright. Picking up an assist were
Addison Peters,
Avery Thies and Goss, all of which were the first of their collegiate careers.

Beth Agee and
Katelyn Chrisman started a match between the posts. Agee made two saves against the Cardinals while Chrisman faced just one shot that wasn't on frame in the season opener versus the Rattlers.

About Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
The Islanders began the year with road victories over Texas Southern (3-1) and UTRGV (4-3). They were picked to finish fifth in the Southland Conference's preseason poll. Thursday is the first of three consecutive home matches for TAMUCC.

Both Reese Cross and Maggie Murray have scored twice on the young season. Credited with a team-high three assists is Molly Arens.

Kennedy Stelling started both matches in goal. The junior has recorded a 2.00 GAA while making four saves for a .571 save percentage. Emily Levy played the second half at Texas Southern where she stopped a shot and allowed a goal.

All-Time Series
Texas State leads the all-time series 3-2-0. The Bobcats won last year's meeting 4-0 that took place in San Marcos. Both
Haley Shaw and
Kamaria Williams were credited with two assists apiece in the contest. The first two matchups went in TXST's favor while the Islanders claimed meetings in 2017 and 2018.
