States Up Podcast: Navy Veteran to DI Football Player

Senior tight end Tyler Huff shares his journey from serving in the Navy to playing for the Bobcats

SAN MARCOS, Texas - In the latest episode of the States Up podcast, Texas State football's Tyler Huff shares his journey from serving in the Navy to donning a Bobcat jersey on Saturdays.

The California native who transferred to Texas State from Saddleback College has experienced a couple injury setbacks in his time with the Bobcats, but the adversity is relatively minimal to what he has faced so far. He is a veteran, having joined the Navy out of high school. Some fans may remember when he was the featured athlete in last year's uniform reveal of the special 9/11 jerseys.

In the episode, he shares what made him want to join the Navy, his path to this point in his football career after years away, and what it meant to be the subject of the 9/11 jersey reveal video last year as someone who has served in the military.

The podcast can be heard on SpotifyApple and Amazon Music.
