TEMPE, Arizona — Texas State fell to Arizona State, 34-15, on the road Saturday night.

Brad Jackson threw for 184 yards with a touchdown and added nine yards on the ground and a score, while Beau Sparks led TXST (2-1) receivers with 10 catches for 70 yards and Lincoln Pare added 13 carries for 61 yards.

Tyler Robles connected on a 39-yard field goal with 2:16 to play in the first quarter to knot the teams at 3-3, but ASU (2-1) scored three times in the second quarter to take a 20-3 lead into halftime. The Sun Devils opened the scoring in the second half with Brad Jackson running for a 7-yard TD late in the third to try and close the deficit. A 3-yard TD pass from Jackson to Kylen Evans with just over five minutes left in the game closed out the scoring for the Bobcats and Arizona State held off the visitors to pick up its second win of the season.

Ryan Nolan led the TXST defense with seven tackles and Treylin Payne and Kalil Alexander each had a sack and a TFL for Bobcats.

Texas State is back in action Saturday when they host Nicholls at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
