SAN MARCOS, Texas – Coming off a big win over the Sun Belt Conference leaders on Thursday, the Texas State men's basketball team (14-6, 5-3 Sun Belt) wraps up the weekend with a game against Coastal Carolina (12-9, 4-5 Sun Belt) Saturday at 5 p.m. inside Strahan Arena.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with
Brant Freeman and Suzanne Fox on the call. Fans can also catch the action on the Varsity Sports Network and KTSW 89.9 FM with

LOOKING AT THE BOBCATS
Caleb Asberry netted a team-high 16 points against the Mountaineers to increase his season average to 14.0 ppg.
Isiah Small is netting 10.7 ppg and grabbing a team leading 7.2 rpg. Adding 10.1 ppg and dishing out 3.3 apg is
Mason Harrell.
SCOUTING COASTAL CAROLINA
The Chanticleers comes in having dropped its last contest to Arkansas State last Saturday. CCU was slated to play at UT Arlington on Thursday but the game was canceled due to severe winter weather in the area. When playing on the road, the Chanticleers are 2-4 with both wins coming in conference play.
Essam Motsafa is averaging nearly a double-double at 15.0 ppg and 9.8 rpg. Also netting 15.0 ppg is Vince Cole, who has knocked down 56 three-pointers and is shooting 41.8% from beyond the arc. Rudi Williams comes in scoring 13.3 ppg while shooting 52.3% from the field and 76.7% at the free throw line.
SERIES HISTORY
Texas State leads the all-time series 8-2 and has won the last five meetings. The Bobcats are 2-2 when hosting CCU having won the last two games. Last time the teams met was Feb. 6, 2020 in Conway, South Carolina and saw TXST claim a 100-63 victory with five players reaching double-figures led by Nijal Pearson's 20 points. The last contest in San Marcos was on Jan. 9, 2020. That night saw Pearson score 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting with four made treys in a 78-66 win.
