SAN MARCOS, Texas – Senior defender
Juana Plata of the Texas State soccer team was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region second team. She is the first Bobcat since 2019 to earn all-region honors.

Plata played in 17 matches and started 16 at left back in helping lead TXST to a 12-win campaign. She finished with a team-high five assists, tied for sixth most in the Sun Belt, with four of them coming in conference play. Playing 1,229 minutes, the Houston native was part of a backline that recorded five shutouts.

For Plata, it is the second time in her career that she has been an all-region selection. In 2019, she was selected to the All-Midwest Third Team while playing for Lamar.
