SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the first time in program history, the Texas State soccer team (11-3-2, 5-2-1 Sun Belt) will play a match in the state of West Virginia when it takes on Marshall (2-8-5, 1-4-3 Sun Belt) Sunday afternoon at Hoops Family Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
Fans can catch the match on ESPN+ and live stats will also be available.

The Bobcats are coming off a setback to South Alabama that, combined with other results, saw them fall from the top of the Sun Belt Conference table to fifth. TXST sits one point behind Georgia Southern and are two back of Arkansas State, James Madison and the Jaguars. A top six spot can be secured on Sunday with a win or a draw and Georgia State does not win their match against Old Dominion.
Madi Goss leads Texas State with eight goals and 19 points while adding three assists.
Zoe Junior comes in with four goals, all of them match-winners, and
Olivia Wright has added three tallies. Netting two goals apiece has been
Bailey Peschel,
Addison Peters, Gonzales and W. Wright. A team best four assists has come from
Juana Plata and both
Haley Shaw and
Mya Ulloa have assisted on two scores apiece.
Katelyn Chrisman cracked the program's career top 10 with five saves on Thursday to give her 63 in her career. This season she sports a 1.29 GAA with 48 saves and a .716 save percentage.
About Marshall
The Thundering Herd came back to pull out a 2-2 draw at Coastal Carolina Thursday night with both tallies coming in the final 14 minutes. The lone win for Marshall came against App State while other draws were to JMU and ULM. Only other win for the Herd was a 2-0 victory over Morehead State in their third match of the season.
Morgan White leads the team with eight goals and 18 points. Kat Gonzalez enters with three goals, three assists and a team-high 54 shots and 23 shots on goal. Also tallying three goals is Courtney Corcoran and Luiza Travassos. Coming in with a team best four assists is Abi Hugh with all of them coming on non-conference play.
Alexis Wolgemuth has made 10 starts in goal and has a 1.67 GAA, .754 save percentage and 49 saves. Mira Pastoft has appeared in four contests and made three starts between the posts. Her last appearance and start came in the conference opener against Southern Miss and has a 2.33 GAA with 11 saves.

Sunday is the first-ever meeting between the Bobcats and Herd. TXST will have played three of the four newcomers to the conference with the lone exception being ODU.
