SAN MARCOS, Texas — The Texas State softball program and head coach Ricci Woodard announce an eight-game slate of softball games throughout the month of October to represent the program's fall schedule. 

"I think it'll be good for our team to get back out on the diamond and continue to work to build off last season's success," said Woodard. "We have several new pieces this season, so these games will present a great opportunity to find out who fits where to bring the picture to life.

"We have five games at Bobcat Softball Stadium and three on the road, including trips to Texas and Texas A&M, so I believe it'll be a perfect blend for our team to get better." 

The Bobcats, which finished last season with a 39-14 overall record and a berth in the NCAA Austin Regional, will open fall action on Saturday, Oct. 2 against Texas A&M International in San Marcos. The contest against the Dustdevils will proceed games against Temple College and the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and Saturday, Oct. 9, respectively. 

For the fourth time in 2021, Texas State will travel to Red & Charline McCombs Field in Austin to play Texas on Sunday, Oct. 10. A quick two-game homestand against St. Edward's (Friday, Oct. 15) and St. Mary's (Thursday, Oct. 21) will proceed the final two games of the slate when the Bobcats travel to UTSA (Friday, Oct. 22) and Texas A&M (Friday, Oct. 29).
