SAN MARCOS, Texas – On a Sunday afternoon with the temperature in the mid-90s, the Texas State soccer team (5-2-1, 2-0-0 Sun Belt) battled to a 1-0 victory over Georgia State (6-3-1, 1-1-0 Sun Belt) at the Bobcat Soccer Complex. With the win, the Bobcats have now won four consecutive matches.

In the 73rd minute,
Trinity Clark played a pass to
Mya Ulloa just outside of the 18-yard box. A one-touch pass by Ulloa to
Olivia Wright saw the sophomore forward take a touch to get herself an open look at goal. Wright sent a low shot past the goalkeeper and into the bottom left corner for the long goal of the match.

TXST had a chance to get on the scoreboard 11 minutes into the contest. A through ball sprung
Madison Humphrey as she outraced the defenders. Her shot was kicked saved and went out for a corner kick.

GSU's best chance came on a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box by Jimena Cabrero. Her attempt sailed just over the crossbar for a Bobcat goal kick.

Ulloa had a look at goal in the 54th minute when she flicked a free kick sent in from
Kamaria Williams. However, the Panthers' goalkeeper was able to push the ball away from frame.

GSU came into the match averaging 18.33 shots per match, the 45 most in the country. TXST's defense held the visitors to 10 shots with only four being on goal.

Taking a quarter of the Bobcats' shots was
Haley Shaw with four attempts, of which two were on frame. Also taking multiple shots was
Kiara Gonzales (2) and Ulloa (3).

Beth Agee made three saves to record her third shutout in the last four contests. The Mansfield, Texas native's shutout total is tied for the second most by a sophomore in program history with Brittany Beltramini (2004) and Kristen Tutt (2000).

Next up for the Bobcats is Georgia State on Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
