LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Texas State baseball team (8-11, 0-1 Sun Belt) could not come with a timely hit as it fell 2-1 in 11 innings to Little Rock (7-7, 1-1 Sun Belt) Friday afternoon at Gary Hogan Field.

Taking the loss on the mound was
Otto Wofford (1-1). The right-hander threw four innings of relief with two strikeouts. Aaron Barkely (4-0) picked up the win after tossing four scoreless innings with three strikeouts and giving up three hits and two walks.

Zachary Leigh had his best start of the season as he struck out six in as many innings. The senior did allow a run on eight hits and no walks.

Leading the way at the plate was
Tucker Redden with a 2-for-3 day and two walks. Also drawing two free passes were
Jose Gonzalez and
Will Hollis.

The Trojans scored first in the third on a single to right with one out. Leigh prevented any more runs by striking out the next two batters.

In the fourth, Gonzalez drew a walk and
Dalton Shuffield followed by lacing a 2-1 pitch down the left field line for a double. Gonzalez would go on to score when LR's Aaron Funk was called for a balk.

The Bobcats left two runners in scoring position in the fifth and one each in the seventh, eighth, ninth and 11th innings.

On the first pitch in the bottom of the 11th, Tyler Williams hit a solo home run to end the game.

The series continues tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
