SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State men's basketball team looks to win its third straight game when they host LeTourneau University on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m. at Strahan Arena.

LOOKING AT THE BOBCATS
Texas State (3-2) returns to Strahan Arena for its first home game after opening the 2021-22 season with five road games. The Bobcats won The Good Sam Empire Classic in Northridge, Calif., on Nov. 19-20. Texas State opened the tournament with 85-65 over Dixie State and came back to defeat Eastern Washington 81-74 in the championship game.

Caleb Asberry was named the Tournament MVP and earned Sun Belt Player of the Week honors after averaging 21.0 points, 4.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. He also shot 59.1% from the field, 77.8% on three-pointers, and converted all nine of his free throws to help the Bobcats claim the tournament title.

Asberry netted a season-high 24 points and dished out a career-high seven assists in the 20-point victory.against Dixie State and came back to score 18 points in the championship game against Eastern Washington.

Isiah Small was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in the two games. Small netted 14 points and eight rebounds in the championship game after tallying 11 points and a season-high nine rebounds against Dixie State.

SCOUTING THE YELLOWJACKETS
LeTourneau enters Wednesday night's game with a 4-0 record after winning the Pioneer Pre-Thanksgiving Classic. First-year head coach James Wallace's squad defeated Bethany 102-86 and Crown College 94-74 in the championship game. Those two wins came after season-opening victories over Texas Lutheran and Schreiner.

Senior guard Andrew Eberhardt was named the American Southwest Conference Player of the Week after being selected to the All-Tournament team and MVP at the Pioneer Pre-Thanksgiving Classic. He netted 68 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals in the tournament and averaging 27.0 points and 4.8 rebounds overall this season. Warren Richardson chipped in with 19.0 points and a team-leading 8.5 rebounds, and Deonte Jackson averaged 18.0 points this season.
