Texas State ranked No. 21 in CIT Mid-Major Top 25 Poll

BOSTON, Mass. – Texas State surges into the CollegeInsider.com (CIT) Men's Mid-Major Top 25 poll and is ranked No. 21 in the latest released Monday evening.
 
After exiting the poll last week do due to a postponement of games, the Bobcats (9-4, 3-1 Sun Belt) swept then ranked No. 19 Little Rock on the road in a statement weekend. TXST was led by this week's Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, junior guard Caleb Asberry who led the team with 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and one steal per game.   
 
TXST has been listed in the poll three times this season with two of them receiving votes. Their first appearance was on Nov. 39 where they were receiving 18 votes, and then on Jan. 4 where they received six votes.
 
The Bobcats were featured in the poll seven times during the 2019-20 season, including five consecutive weeks (Feb. 10-March 8). Last season, Texas State ranked as high as No. 22.
 
The latest poll has six Sun Belt Conference teams listed, including No. 7 Georgia State, No. 21 Texas State, No. 23 Coastal Carolina, and No. 25 Louisiana. Little Rock dropped out of the ranks but are receiving 30 votes, while Appalachian State is receiving one vote.
 
Texas State will have its fifth and sixth consecutive road games on Jan. 22-23 at ULM in Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La.
