SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Sun Belt Conference, BYU, and ESPN announced Monday that ESPN will nationally-televise Texas State's football game at BYU on October 24. The game will kick off at 9:15 p.m. (Central) in Provo, Utah.
When Texas State travels to BYU, it will be Texas State's second football contest that ESPN has televised this season. The Bobcats opened the 2020 season with ESPN broadcasting their game against SMU on September 5. That contest was the network's highest-rated game of the day.
The BYU contest will be the fifth Texas State game ESPN linear networks have televised. In addition to the SMU and BYU games, ESPN2 aired the game against UTSA, and ESPNU is televising the South Alabama contest this Saturday after broadcasting the ULM contest on September 19.
The Bobcats are in their second season under second-year head coach
Jake Spavital, who is calling the offensive plays for one of the top offenses in the Sun Belt Conference in 2020. Spavital began his head coaching career in 2019 after rising through the coaching ranks calling plays while serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Texas A&M, Cal, and West Virginia.
